Media Discourse Comparative Analysis of Trump's Speech in Daily Kompas and Gazeta.Ru
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the media discourses of President Donald Trump's speech at the United States Congress on February 4, 2020. This article is interesting because, in America, the political tension is high because of the President's impeachment trial by the Democratic opposition. We apply the following methods: an inductive, descriptive and comparative, cognitive and discursive analysis, semantic, definition, functional, and stylistic to analyzing text, photographs, and video contents message in the news. To determine which structural features and content in the publications were analyzed, a comparative and quantitative analysis (content analysis) of the daily quality publication "Kompas" and the Russian daily "Gazeta.ru" with the title of President Trump's speech on Tuesday, February 5, 2020.
