Conclusiones: se evaluó como eficaz el proceso de atencionesmultidisciplinario a pacientes con Esclerosis Lateral Amiotróficaatendidos en el Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía durante elperiodo 2005-2017.Palabras clave: atención multidisciplinar; cuidados paliativos;enfermedad de neurona motora; Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica.ABSTRACTObjective: to evaluate the effectiveness of the multidisciplinarycare process for patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis treatedat the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in the period 2005-2017.Method: an evaluation of the effectiveness of the multidisciplinarycare process was carried out for patients with Amyotrophic LateralSclerosis treated at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, through an intervention from 2012 on quality of care and healthrecords; it was divided into two stages. In the period 2005-2011,72 patients were included in the study and in 2012-2017 (75).Statistical processing was carried out through the comparison ofthe means of two non-parametric samples, the Mann WhitneyU test, and the comparison of proportions by the Z proportionscomparison test, with a reliability of 95% and p <0.05.Results: during the period 2012-2017 a decrease in diagnosticlatency was obtained for bulbar form in 3.24 months; 5.4 moremonths of survival and there was no place of death withoutspecifying and inclusion of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis as a causeof death in 96% of the death certificates, all statistically significant. Conclusions: the multidisciplinary care process for patients withAmyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis treated at the Institute of Neurologyand Neurosurgery during the period 2005-2017 was evaluated aseffective. Keywords: multidisciplinary care; palliative care; motor neurondisease; Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
