Palabras clave: diagnóstico; Chlamydia trachomatis; Mycoplasma spp.; PCR en tiempo real.ABSTRACT Objective: to determine, by Real Time PCR, the frequency of Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma infections in women treated for infertility at the “Hermanos Ameijeiras” Hospital since February 2017 until January 2019.Methods: The presence of C. trachomatis and Mycoplasma spp. was determined in vaginal samples of 436 females treated for infertility in the Genetic Department of the “Hermanos Ameijeiras” Hospital since February 2016 until January 2019. The determinations were made using the Light Mix kit C. trachomatis and Light Mix kit Mycoplasma gene/hom and Ureaplasma from TIB MOLBIOL, respectively, in a Cobas z480 thermal cycler (Roche). Frequency and percentage analyzes were performed using the statistical program SPSSv-20.Results: Of the total of women studied (n = 436) only 18 (4.1%) were positive for C. Trachomatis. The detection of Mycoplasma spp. showed that 171 (39.2 %) were positive for several of their species. Seven samples (1.61 %) showed coinfections by both bacterial. Conclusions: The frequency of infection by C. trachomatis in women studied for infertility is low; on the other hand, those found for Mycoplasma spp. are relatively high. Keywords: Diagnosis; Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma spp., Real time-PCR.
