NÃO ESQUECER/ DO NOT FORGET

SUMMARY

Moment that tells the plague of insomnia and its unfolding, above all the forgetfulness. It discusses three modes to preserve memory. The first is from the decal in that the residents of Macondo go labeling objects and animals with their names, functions and feelings, in an attempt to preserve their practical uses. The second is the reading of the playing cards, in that Pilar Ternera reads, vaguely, the past. It has been modes of inventing a memory. The latter is the "rotary dictionary," a machine that would bring elemental knowledge so that the citizens of Macondo could, briefly, to access. Keywords: One hundred years of solitude. Memory.
