THE IMPACT OF THE PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION FOR THE RANDOM VARIABLES COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE AND YIELD STRESS OF STEEL IN THE RELIABILITY ANALYSE

SUMMARY

The aim of this study is to evaluate the variation of the index of reliability sist of a reinforced concrete beam, strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer – CFRP, considering two different probability distribution functions – PDF for the random variables – concrete compressive strength c f and steel yield stress s f , and two different configurations of reinforcement with CFRP. In the first analyze the sist is evaluated twice, initially using the Normal PDF for the cf and the s f , as considered by the Brazilian code – NBR 6118:2014, afterward the same index of reliability is obtained again, this time considering the Lognormal PDF for both materials, as considered by the Joint Committee on Structural Safety – JCSS. The beam is strengthened with longitudinal CFRP reinforcement Afl and transversal CFRP reinforcement Aft. In the second analyze the efficiency of the new reinforcement is evaluated. This time the beam is strengthened with either Afl or Aft , and the probability distribution functions PDF for the concrete and steel are considered to be Lognormal For the two sets of reliability analyses the beam is subjected to a torsional moment, and the methodology and reinforcement configurations are the same developed by Silva Filho (2007).

Se efectuó el análisis, síntesis y contrastación de los diferentes criterios y posiciones de los autores de la literatura revisada y se aplicó la discusión grupal, que se realizó en tres grupos diferentes.Resultados: Se logró elaborar una alternativa metodológica que permita a todos los profesionales la elaboración y presentación de los trabajos de investigación de forma lógica, con una escritura y un lenguaje científico adecuado, contribuyendo a perfeccionar la producción científica de nuestra Institución.Conclusiones: Se obtiene una visión más integral para la obtención y presentación de los resultados científicos y seidentificaron las fortalezas y las debilidades de los investigadores de los proyectos de investigación, aspirantes del proceso de doctorado, así como la revisión de artículos publicados en la revista “Panorama. Cuba y Salud”. Constituyó una herramienta para la preparación integral de los profesionales de nuestra Institución, mayor preparación científico metodológica de nuestros docentes, para organizar, planificar y ejecutar el trabajo científico.Palabras clave: resultado científico; presentación; defensa; socialización; impacto.ABSTRACTObjective: to develop a methodological alternative that allows professionals to prepare and present research papers in a logical manner, with adequate writing and scientific language.Materials and Methods: a qualitative and quantitative research model was used in which theoretical and empirical methods were used. The analysis, synthesis and contrast of the different criteria and positions of the authors of the reviewed literature was carried out and the group discussion was applied, which was carried out in three different groups.Results: It was possible to elaborate a methodological alternative that allows all the professionals the elaboration and presentation of the works of investigation of logical form, with a writing and a suitable scientific language, contributingto perfect the scientific production of our Institution.Conclusions: a more comprehensive vision for the obtaining and presentation of the scientific results is obtained and the strengths and weaknesses of the researchers of the research projects, aspirants of the doctorate process, as well as the review of articles published in the journal were identified. “Cuba and Health Panorama”. It constituted a tool for the integral preparation of the professionals of our Institution, greater scientific methodological preparation of our teachers, to organize, plan and execute the scientific work.Keywords: scientific result; presentation; defending; socialization; impact.

Impacto de la asignatura Aprender a Aprender en la motivación por el estudio/ impact; learning to learn; motivation; learning/impact; learning to learn; motivation; learning Impacto de la asignatura Aprender a Aprender en la motivación por el estudio/ impact; learning to learn; motivation; learning/impact; learning to learn; motivation; learningObjetivo: valorar el impacto de la asignatura Aprender a Aprender en la motivación por el estudio.Métodos: la investigación acción participativa, con una muestra intencional de 177 estudiantes de Premédico de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina del curso 2017-2018 empleó métodos teóricos, matemáticos estadísticos y la etnografía, apoyado en técnicas participativas con enfoque dialéctico materialista. Se solicitó valoración por nueve especialistas yprofesores, metodólogos y profesor consultante.Resultados: mediante la caracterización inicial y el diagnóstico psicopedagógico, se evidenció modos de actuación de los estudiantes que demuestran necesidades y limitaciones en las formaciones psicológicas para el desempeño académico. Eldiseño de una estrategia de intervención psicopedagógica individual y grupal, permitió elevar los niveles motivacionales de los estudiantes desde la asignatura Aprender a Aprender.Conclusiones: la caracterización inicial realizada a los estudiantes, aportó elementos esenciales de la personalidad que influyen en la motivación por el estudio. El diagnóstico inicial y su seguimiento por docentes y especialistas a través del diseño y aplicación de una estrategia de intervención y orientación psicopedagógica desde la asignatura Aprender a Aprender, elevó los niveles motivacionales por el estudio para el éxito en el desempeño académico y el desarrollo de habilidades para la extrapolación de conocimientos, demostrando su impacto en los niveles de comprensión, participación,compromiso, satisfacción, aceptación, interés e independencia de los estudiantes.ABSTRACTObjective: to evaluate the impact of the subject learning to learn in the motivation for the studyMethods: the action participate investigation, with an intentional sample of 177 students from preparatorycourse of Latin American Medicine School of 2017-2018 course used theoretical, mathematical- statistical methods and ethnography, supported on participative techniques with dialectic materialist approach. Validation from nine specialists, professors and expert professors was requested.Results: throughout the initial characterization and psichopedagogical diagnosis, students ways of performance that show necessities and limitations in the psychological formations for academicals performance. the design of the strategy of individual and group psichopedagogical intervention, allowed to improve the levels of motivation from the subject learning to learn.Conclusions: the initial characterization realized to students, contributed esencial elements of personalitythat influence in the motivation for study. The initial diagnosis and its pursuit by academicians and specialists throughout the design and application of an intervention and psichopedagogical orientation strategy from the subject Learning to Learn, upheaved the motivational levels for the study to the success in the academicals performance and the development of abilities for extrapolation of knowledges, showing its impact in the comprehension levels, participation, compromise, satisfaction, acceptation, interest and independence of the students.

UNA ESTRATEGIA DIDÁCTICA PARA LA COMPRENSIÓN DE LOS CONTENIDOS MATEMÁTICOS PARA ESTUDIANTES NO HISPANOHABLANTES / A DIDACTIC STRATEGY FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF MATHEMATICAL CONTENT FOR NON-SPANISH-SPEAKING STUDENTS UNA ESTRATEGIA DIDÁCTICA PARA LA COMPRENSIÓN DE LOS CONTENIDOS MATEMÁTICOS PARA ESTUDIANTES NO HISPANOHABLANTES / A DIDACTIC STRATEGY FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF MATHEMATICAL CONTENT FOR NON-SPANISH-SPEAKING STUDENTSObjetivo: Validar los resultados obtenidos en la aplicación de laestrategia didáctica para el mejoramiento de la comprensión de los contenidos matemáticos en los estudiantes no hispanohablantes del curso preparatorio de la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo con estudiantes no hispanohablantes del curso preparatorio y profesores de Matemática desde  curso 2016-17 hasta diciembre de 2018. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos, empíricos y estadísticos para definir conceptos, operacionalizar y medir variables, resumir, caracterizar a estudiantes y profesores  según indicadores y valorar los resultados.Resultados: Se obtuvo una definición para la comprensión de los contenidos matemáticos y para sus niveles, un instrumento para el diagnóstico inicial que mide dominio de los contenidos matemáticos y los niveles de comprensión, tareas docentes para diferentes niveles, glosario de términos interactivo y hojas de trabajo con voz, la página Web de departamento WebMate, cuatro foro debate, actualización de documentos metodológicos, una estrategia didáctica con acciones para profesores, estudiantes y grupo según tipo de clases, instrumentos para evaluar la estrategia en estudiantes y profesores. Se participó en eventos nacionales e internacionales y se realizaron 14 publicaciones con los principales resultados en memorias y revistas de impacto y 7 profesores cambiaron de categoría docente.Conclusiones: La estrategia didáctica aplicada posibilitó la superación del claustro y la incorporación de estudiantes como investigadores, demostró su viabilidad para la comprensión de los contenidos matemáticos en estudiantes no hispanohablantes del curso preparatorio.ABSTRACTObjective: To validate the results obtained in the application of the didactic strategy for the improvement of the understanding of the mathematical contents in non-Spanish-speaking students of the preparatory course of the Latin American School of Medicine.Materials and methods: A descriptive observational study was carried out with non-Spanish-speaking students of the preparatory course and mathematics teachers from the 2016-17 academic year to December 2018. Theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used to define concepts, operationalize and measure variables, summarize, characterize students and teachers according to indicators and assess the results.Results: A definition was obtained for the understanding of mathematical content and for its levels, an instrument for the initial diagnosis that measures mastery of mathematical content and levels of understanding, teaching tasks for different levels, an interactive glossary of terms and worksheets. work with voice, the WebMate department website, four discussion forums, updating of methodological documents, a didactic strategy with actions for teachers, students and group according to type of classes, instruments to evaluate the strategy in students and teachers. Evaluación de impacto del programa educativo para los instructores educativos en la prevención de adicciones / Evaluation of the impact of the educational Program for educational instructors in prevention of addictions Evaluación de impacto del programa educativo para los instructores educativos en la prevención de adicciones / Evaluation of the impact of the educational Program for educational instructors in prevention of addictions El presente trabajo es uno de los resultados que se derivaron de la investigación para alcanzar el Grado Científico de Doctor en Ciencias Pedagógicas y su objetivo es revelar las derivaciones que produce la aplicación del programa educativo para el desempeño pedagógico de los instructores educativos en la prevención de las adicciones, mediante la evaluación de impacto. Para esto se realizó una observación minuciosa y detallada al desempeño pedagógico de los instructores educativos a partir de la aplicación de métodos como la prueba de desempeño, la encuesta y la sistematización, que tuvo como resultados la vinculación de la teoría con la práctica de los contenidos del programa educativo, que permitieron el intercambio de experiencias, la necesaria actualización para aprender, así como la elaboración de medios y materiales. El programa educativo fue de gran acogida y trascendió los niveles de aceptación al transformar los modos de actuación de los instructores y la sensibilización de los estudiantes acerca de la responsabilidad que, como médico, deben tener para promover la salud en los pacientes y las habilidades previstas en el modelo de profesional de la carrera de Medicina. El colectivo de profesores que trabajaron en el programa educativo con los instructores educativos, estuvieron identificados con la necesidad del cambio y brindaron su aporte, diseñaron las técnicas que favorecieron el aprendizaje, lo cual reveló lo novedoso del tema, combinó la creatividad de los docentes y las potencialidades de los instructores educativos.Palabras clave: programa educativo; prevención; adicciones; técnicas de estudio.ABSTRACT The present work is one of the results that were derived from the research to reach the Scientific Degree of Doctor at Pedagogical Sciences and its objective is; reveal the results produced by the application of the educational program for the pedagogical performance of educational instructors in the prevention of addictions, through the impact assessment. For this, a detailed and detailed observation was made of the pedagogical performance of the educational instructors based on the application of methods such as the performance test, the survey and the systematization, which resulted in the linking of the theory-practice of the contents of the educational program, which allowed the exchange of experiences, the necessary update to learn, as well as the development of media and materials. The educational program was very well received and transcended the levels of acceptance, by transforming the modes of action of the instructors and the sensitization of the students about the responsibility that as a doctor, they must have to promote health in patients, skills provided in the Professional model of the medical career. The group of teachers who worked in the educational program with the educational instructors, were identified with the need for change and provided their input, designed techniques that favored learning, which revealed the novelty of the topic, combined the creativity of teachers and students.
