SUMMARY
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of ARCS-based interactive multimedia on learning motivation in social science learning for class IX junior high school students. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. Collecting data using a learning motivation questionnaire with a population of all class IX students and class IX-F and IX-G samples. The prerequisite test shows both classes are normally distributed and homogeneous. T-test using t Independent Sample Test shows t count> t table that is 5.869>2.001 and a significance is 0.000 <0.05 which means that there is a significant difference in effectiveness. The N-gain test result of 72% means that learning using interactive multimedia based on ARCS is quite effective compared to learning that does not use multimedia in increasing students' learning motivation.
