SUMMARY
Author based on many scientific sources substantiates the gist and constituents of the concepts of "informatics competence" and "information culture"; conducts comparative didactic analysis. Informatics competence - an person's integrated ability to work efficiently and effectively in the information environment; it appears in the information activities and evaluated for performance. Information Culture is a measure of human excellence in the information field; it manifests itself in social activities, communication, behavior. The author describes how these concepts affect the purposes of study, what should be the content of the training material in terms of the priority of one or the other concepts, what methods and tools must be applied for the purposes of study, what should be the diagnostic results.
