Diagnóstico ambiental de la Escuela Latinoamérica de Medicina / Environmental diagnosis of the Latin American School of Medicine Diagnóstico ambiental de la Escuela Latinoamérica de Medicina / Environmental diagnosis of the Latin American School of MedicineObjetivo: socializar los resultados del diagnóstico ambiental aplicado a la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina.Materiales y métodos: el estudio empleó técnicas como la observación científica, entrevistas y encuestas que permitieron diagnosticar el estado del medio ambiente e identificar los principales problemas ambientales de la universidad. Los resultados permitieron caracterizar el estado del medio ambiente y la inserción de la dimensión ambiental en los procesos sustantivos.Resultados: en la actualidad son cada vez más los Centros de Educación Superior y Universidades de Ciencias Médicas que encaminan sus esfuerzos al logro del desarrollo sostenible. Para ello se debe trabajar en la identificación de los impactos que su desempeño genera al ambiente y en la búsqueda de vías para su solución.Conclusiones: los resultados del diagnóstico ambiental realizado en la ELAM, permitió identificar los principales problemas ambientales. Entre ellos se encuentran la contaminación de las aguas del mar por vertimiento de desechos líquidos, mal manejo de residuales sólidos y la insuficiente gestión de inves-tigaciones y postgrados relacionados con la temática.ABSTRACTObjetive: to socialize the results of the environmental diagnosis applied to the Latin American School of Medicine.Materials and methods: The study used techniques such as scientific observation, interviews and surveys that allowed to diagnose the state of the environment and identify the main environmental problems of the university. The results allowed us to characterize the state of the environment and the insertion of the environmental dimension in the substantive processes.Results: Nowadays there are more and more Higher Education Centers and Medical Sciences Universities that direct their efforts towards the achievement of sustainable development. To do this, work must be done to identify the impacts that its performance generates on the environment and in the search for ways to solve it.Conclusions: The results of the environmental diagnosis carried out in the ELAM, allowed to identify the main environmental problems. Among them are the contamination of the waters of the sea by dumping of liquid waste, poor management of solid waste and the insufficient management of research and postgraduate courses related to the subject.Keywords: environmental diagnosis; environmental dimension; universities.

Materiales y métodos: el estudio empleó técnicas como la observación científica, entrevistas y encuestas que permitieron diagnosticar el estado del medio ambiente e identificar los principales problemas ambientales de la universidad. El ruido y la salud en la Escuela latinoamericana de Medicina como universidad saludable / Noise and health in the Latin American School of Medicine as a healthy university El ruido y la salud en la Escuela latinoamericana de Medicina como universidad saludable / Noise and health in the Latin American School of Medicine as a healthy universityObjetivo: demostrar la importancia de una escucha sin riesgos en una Universidad Saludable.Materiales y métodos: se realiza una revisión bibliográfica donde se define el sonido y el ruido según los criterios de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, además se describe y explica, de forma breve, la Morfofisiología del sistema auditivo, receptor y procesador de los sonidos del medio ambiente y, como eje central, se abordan los daños que provoca a la salud en general, además del perjuicio al propio órgano.Resultados: se exponen las características de la escuela y sus diversas fuentes de ruido, se propone realizar un mapa sonoro y lograr una participación consciente y propositiva de estudiantes y trabajadores para minimizar el ruido provocado en el intercambio personal y así reducir el daño a la salud que provoca este contaminante ambiental.  Conclusiones: el ruido es un contaminante ambiental reconocido por la Organización Mundial de la Salud que siempre está presente en la vida cotidiana y perturba todas las actividades humanas si no existe la capacidad de realizar acciones que promuevan una escucha sin riesgos. La Escuela latinoamericana de Medicina está inmersa en un proyecto de Universidad Saludable y este es un tema es importante para alcanzar sus metas.ABSTRACT Objective: to demonstrate the importance of a risk-free listening in a Healthy University.Materials and methods: a bibliographic review is carried out where sound and noise are defined according to the criteria of the World Health Organization. In addition, the Morphophysiology of the auditory system, receiver and processor of sounds is briefly described and explained. of the environment and, as a central axis, the damage caused to health in general is addressed, in addition to the damage to the body itself.Results: the characteristics of the school and its various sources of noise are exposed, a sound map is proposed and a conscious and proactive participation of students and workers is achieved to minimize the noise caused in the personal exchange and thus reduce the damage to the health that this environmental pollutant causes.Conclusions: noise is an environmental pollutant recognized by the World Health Organization that is always present in everyday life and disturbs all human activities if there is no ability to perform actions that promote safe listening. The Latin American School of Medicine is immersed in a Healthy University project and this is an important issue to achieve its goals.Keywords: noise; environmental pollution; college; listen without risk; Latin American School of Medicine.

LA SEGURIDAD BIOLÓGICA EN EL CONTEXTO DE LOS LABORATORIOS CLÍNICOS / BIOLOGICAL SAFETY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CLINICAL LABORATORY LA SEGURIDAD BIOLÓGICA EN EL CONTEXTO DE LOS LABORATORIOS CLÍNICOS / BIOLOGICAL SAFETY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CLINICAL LABORATORYLa seguridad biológica representa un componente vital del sistema de garantías de la calidad de vida y debe entenderse como una doctrina encaminada a lograr actitudes y conductas que disminuyan el riesgo de adquirir infecciones en el medio laboral. Es por ello que la superación y el desempeño tienen que responder a la profesionalidad que caracteriza al sistema de salud cubano. Sin embargo, los recursos humanos que laboran en los Laboratorios Clínicos de la atención secundaria de salud no dominan en toda su magnitud la legislación de seguridad biológica establecida por la política ambiental del país y en consecuencia no la cumplen de forma óptima, por tanto, la presente   investigación   está   encaminada  a fundamentar la importancia de la seguridad biológica en el Laboratorio Clínico del Hospital Universitario “Comandante Manuel Fajardo”, para lo cual, el autor empleó métodos teóricos, empíricos y matemáticos-estadísticos, con su respectiva red de indagaciones, que le posibilitó abordar el objeto de estudio como un fenómeno en constante transformación y desarrollo, para revelar los nexos entre sus componentes.AbstractBiological safety represents a vital component of the quality of life guarantee system and should be understood as a doctrine aimed at achieving attitudes and behaviors that reduce the risk of acquiring infections in the workplace. That is why improvement and performance have to respond to the professionalism that characterizes the Cuban health system. However, the human resources that work in the Clinical Laboratories of secondary health care do not fully dominate the biological safety legislation established by the country’s environmental policy and consequently do not comply with it in an optimal way, therefore, the This research is aimed at substantiating the importance of biological safety in the ClinicalLaboratory of the “Comandante Manuel Fajardo” University Hospital, for which the author used theoretical, empirical and mathematical-statistical methods, with their respective network of inquiries, which made it possible to approach the object of study as a phenomenon in constant transformation and development, to reveal the links between itscomponents.
